Construction Waste Lab (CWL)
Research and Industry Portal
This research and industry portal provides insights into Australian Construction and Demolition (C&D) waste management. Established in 2020, CWL aims to connect the key stakeholders working in the area of the C&D waste stream, including government agencies, the design, and construction industry, the waste management and resource recovery industry, professional associations, and academics.
The construction industry in Australia has grown significantly in the past two decades in the wake of population growth, migration, and expansion in the tertiary education industry. The growing population has necessitated extensive property development, better public transport, and improved infrastructure. All these activities have resulted in substantial growth in construction and demolition (C&D) waste that needs to be sustainably managed. The portal aims to develop the current state of play in the area of C&D waste in Australia and strives for improvements in its sustainable management. The portal development has been funded by The Sustainable Built Environment National Research Centre (SBEnrc) https://sbenrc.com.au.
We invite you to connect and collaborate with us if you are also working in the area of C&D waste either as a researcher or an industry professional so we can highlight your work/product/services through our portal.
We also welcome international collaboration and aspire to become a conduit for knowledge sharing and transfer.
