Vinyl

Overview: Polymerizing Vinyl Chloride (PVC) is relatively easy to recycle - if it can be recovered in sufficient quantities and quality. The best quality is when plastics are well sorted by type. Manufacturers already have high levels of recycling within their businesses, feeding offcuts and their own material back into their own production process. And most will take recyclate - but only if it is 'clean' and not contaminated by other materials.

Vinyl Council of Australia (VCA) stated that the durability, weatherability and flexibility of these materials make them an excellent choice for many applications, yet they have been previously difficult to recycle,” As a priority recycling area, there is a great potential for recovering these resources for use in new products.
